Ghana captain Jordan Ayew has laid down a clear expectation for any player hoping to join the Black Stars squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup: total commitment and the willingness to perform on the biggest stage. Speaking to Adom Sports, Ayew emphasized that while the current group which secured qualification deserves recognition, any additions must meet the team's standards. "I think the players who played during the qualifiers have done extremely well. I don't think we need any additions," he said. However, he acknowledged that the final decision rests with head coach Otto Addo and his technical team. "I don't think this is the right time to make changes. But to be honest, on the technical side, the coach will know whom to add or select." Then came the warning for any potential newcomers. "Whoever is added must be ready to give their all and put on a show." Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Panama, and Croatia for the tournament, which runs from June 11 to July 19 across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The Black Stars will open their campaign against Panama inToronto beforee facing England in Boston and Croatia in Philadelphia. For Ayew, the message is clear: those who wear the shirt must earn it.
