Mohammed Kudus misses Black Stars friendlies as injury recovery continues

2026-03-17 - 00:05

Mohammed Kudus has been left out of the Black Stars squad for this month's international friendlies against Austria and Germany, with the Tottenham midfielder still sidelined by injury. The 25-year-old has not featured for Spurs since sustaining a muscle setback in January. He is expected to return to football action by mid-April, ruling him out of Ghana's crucial World Cup preparation matches. Kudus has been one of Ghana's most influential players since making his debut, and his absence will be felt as Otto Addo's side face two tough European opponents. The creative midfielder has registered three goals and six assists in 26 appearances across all competitions in his first season at Tottenham. Ghana will take on Austria in Vienna on March 27 before travelling to Stuttgart to face Germany three days later. Both fixtures form part of the team's preparations for the 2026 World Cup, where the Black Stars have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama. Kudus is expected to be available for selection once he returns to full fitness in the coming weeks. Send your news stories to [email protected] and via WhatsApp on +233 546310076.
