Asante Kotoko interim head coach Prince Yaw Owusu has admitted that the team's ongoing struggles at Baba Yara Stadium have created a difficult atmosphere for everyone connected to the club. Speaking in a pre-match interview with Kotoko Media ahead of their Ghana Premier League clash against Karela United in Tamale, Owusu reflected on the pain of dropping points on home soil. "It's not easy at all. A lot of thinking about what's going on, what is happening, why Kumasi, all those things cross my mind," he confessed. "It hurts a lot because my fans also are in Kumasi, and this is where we have to satisfy them, and it's not happening. It's very difficult for us." Kotoko's recent home form has been particularly galling. They lost 1-0 to arch-rivals Hearts of Oak before being held to a goalless draw by Vision FC—both games seeing the Porcupine Warriors play with a man advantage for the entire second half. The results have left Kotoko stranded in fourth place, unable to capitalise on opportunities to close the gap on the league leaders. Adding to the challenge, Kotoko travel to Tamale to face Karela United, where they have not won since 2017. For Owusu, the difficulties keep mounting. His honest admission reflects the weight of expectation at a club where victory is demanded, especially at home. The search for answers continues.
