Coventry City manager Frank Lampard has commended Brandon Thomas-Asante for how he handled his return to action, praising the Ghana forward's performance after a period disrupted by injury and suspension. Thomas-Asante marked his comeback with a goal in Coventry's 3-0 victory over Preston North End, helping the Sky Blues maintain their six-point lead at the top of the Championship standings. Speaking after the match, Lampard highlighted the forward's composure and growing influence as the game progressed. "It was a good game for him to come into at home here, and I thought he dealt with it well," Lampard said. "Getting his goal as the game went on, I liked him more—his power, his reaction always to try and press. He's got that power and speed about him." Thomas-Asante endured a frustrating midseason spell, missing time through injury before serving a three-match suspension upon his return. Lampard acknowledged the stop-start nature of his campaign. "That's what he gave us right early in the season and he's obviously had his injury and then came back and suspension so it's been a bit broken for him since then." Despite the interruptions, Thomas-Asante has now registered 11 goals and four assists in 25 Championship appearances, remaining a central figure in Coventry's promotion push.
