German forward of Ghanaian descent, Jamie Leweling, scored a brace on Sunday afternoon to help VfB Stuttgart seal an emphatic 4-0 victory against Wolfsburg in the German Bundesliga. The winger started the Round 24 fixture and put up a top performance to ensure his team sealed all three points at the end of the contest. The winger’s sharp movement and clinical finishing ensured the hosts made their superiority count before the halftime whistle. Stuttgart opened the scoring in the 21st minute when Deniz Undav reacted quickest to a loose ball inside the penalty area. The home side doubled their advantage nine minutes later, with Leweling getting his first of the afternoon after a well-worked move carved open the Wolfsburg defence. Leweling was not done yet. Just before the break, he capitalised on another rebound opportunity and unleashed a stunning effort from the edge of the area to complete his brace and effectively put the contest beyond reach. Very late in the Nikolas Nartey who had come on as a substitute added a fourth goal to compound the defeat on Wolfsburg. The big win means Stuttgart finish the matchday, sitting fourth in the German Bundesliga standings. Send your news stories to [email protected] and via WhatsApp on +233 546310076.
