Antoine Semenyo scores in Manchester City's draw with Nottingham Forest

2026-03-05 - 02:45

Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo delivered another influential performance for Manchester City, scoring the opener in a 2–2 draw against Nottingham Forest at the Etihad. The attacker struck on 31 minutes, timing his run perfectly to meet Rayan Cherki’s pass and finish coolly for 1–0. City looked in control until the second half, when Morgan Gibbs-White levelled for Forest, only for Rodri to restore the hosts’ lead with a towering header from a Rayan Ait Nouri cross on 62 minutes. Forest refused to fold, however, and Elliot Anderson snatched a point with a composed finish from English-Ghanaian winger Callum Hudson-Odoi’s cut-back on 76 minutes. Deep in stoppage time, Semenyo almost won it, dipping a free-kick over the wall but just onto the roof of the net. Semenyo’s goal continues an impressive 2025/26 Premier League campaign, with 27 appearances, 15 goals, and 4 assists so far, underlining his growing importance in City’s attack. Manchester City now turn their focus to a tricky trip to face West Ham United in their next league outing, as they chase vital points in the title race.
